Welcome to Healing Hearts and Hooves
Welcome to Healing Hearts & Hooves in southern Oregon, where people
with disabilities can find spiritual healing and self-confidence and
learn to do things they thought impossible. Hope and courage come in all
shapes and forms!
Here each individual’s needs and challenges are assessed and they embark on the new life-changing experience of working with a horse. Programs are adapted to fit each person. Trust, love, encouragement and help are nurtured by a trained, experienced instructor as a partnership between human and horse develops.
For people dealing with profound mental or emotional problems, therapeutic horseback riding provides a unique connection with the outside world. Offering inclusion in a world that so often excludes them, this program provides opportunities for socialization; where differences are minimized and emphasis is placed on belonging.
Riding instruction and fun-filled sessions with activities designed to improve cognitive, associative and developmental function allow our students to experience challenge coupled with success. Validation from peers and staff boosts self-esteem and self-confidence. The opportunity to say “I DID IT” is a valuable moment indeed.
